About Us
We are a car rental platform covering Johor Bahru and the rest of the state, operated by Trevabook Sdn Bhd from an office on Jalan Tun Abdul Razak Susur 2 in Bandar Johor Bahru. We also sell tickets to Johor attractions and tours, which you can add to a car booking instead of buying separately at the gate.
How We Started
JohorBook launched in 2021, built on the same platform behind LangkawiBook. The company was registered as Trevabook Sdn Bhd, number 202201002811 (1448508-H), in 2022.
The reason for a Johor-specific site rather than a national one is that Johor rentals are their own problem. A large share of customers arrive across the causeway from Singapore, land at Senai at hours when most rental counters are shut, or want to drive out to Desaru or Mersing and come back to a different city. Generic aggregators handle none of that well.
What We Rent
The Johor fleet is more than 100 vehicles across 13 models. Every one is automatic, air-conditioned, under five years old, and serviced before it goes out.
The range starts with the Perodua Axia at RM135 a day and runs through the Myvi, Bezza, Proton Saga, Honda City, Toyota Vios and Yaris. For groups there is the Perodua Alza, Toyota Veloz and Honda Stepwagon at seven seats, and at the top end the nine-seater Hyundai Staria and the Toyota Alphard.
Minimum rental age is 18. Most Malaysian rental firms set that at 21 or 23.
Where You Collect
Pickup and return run 24 hours at Senai International Airport (JHB), JB Sentral, the JohorBook HUB in Johor Bahru, and partner hotels including DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru, Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre, Fives Hotel and Teega Residence.
One-way rentals are available. You can pick up in Johor and return in another Malaysian city for a fee confirmed at booking.
If you hold a Singapore driving licence, that is sufficient on its own. No international permit required.
Attractions and Tours
Alongside car rental we sell tickets to six Johor attractions and tours: LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort, Adventure Waterpark Desaru Coast, the Blue Ice Skating Rink at Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru, the Firefly River Cruise at Kota Tinggi, the Brooklyn Cruise at Puteri Harbour, and the JDT Stadium Tour. All of them can be added to a car booking and paid for in one transaction.
The Team
JohorBook is run by a team of nine based in Johor Bahru, led by chief executive Azlan Abas. The same team operates the other Trevabook brands, so the people handling a Johor booking are the people who have been running rentals in Langkawi, Penang and Melaka for years.
Fleet operations sit with Aznan Abas. Technology is handled by Ahmad Amran, business development by Khairul Azda and Zurina Hamid, and customer experience by Hazwani Mohd Fauzi. Meet the team
The Trevabook Network
JohorBook is one of five booking platforms run by Trevabook Sdn Bhd. The others are LangkawiBook, PenangBook and MelakaBook in Malaysia, and BishkekBook in Kyrgyzstan. Between them the network manages over 200 vehicles in Langkawi, over 180 in Penang and over 180 in Melaka. Each site runs its own local fleet rather than reselling someone else's.
